MPD precincts
Uniform Patrol is the largest division of the MPD and is responsible for answering calls within the city's nine precincts.

The Memphis Police Department handled 804,296 calls in 2006.

Uniform Patrol is divided into two districts, District One and District Two. 

District One is made up of the Ridgeway, Raines, Airways, and Mt. Moriah Precincts.

District Two, which consists of the Union, Tillman, Appling Farms, and Old Allen Precincts.

The South Main Precinct is under the command of Deputy Chief Steve Cole of Special Operations.
