West, I-55/I-240 on the South, Airways on the East, and South Parkway and Lamar on the
North.
The
Airways Station became fully operational
on July 1,1998. It is located on the former Defense Depot property at 2163 Airways and
originally covered Wards 224, 226, and 231. These Wards were renamed 724, 725, and
726
with Wards 721, 722, and 723 eventually added the following year. Airways
Station covers an area of approximately 19 square miles with a
population of 70,753.
