Memphis Police Department

These figures represent Calls for Service for the entire police department during the last six years and includes eight precincts, Traffic Division, supervisors, and service calls. 

In 2003, the North Precinct handled the most calls averaging 16.06%. The East Precinct handled 15.92 % of all calls while the West Precinct handled 13.48% of all calls. The smallest precinct - Downtown - handled 4.75% of all calls.

Total calls for 2003 was 833,057. Total calls for 2002 was 869,325 which is a difference of -36,268 which indicates a 4.17% decrease in call load.

2002
Total calls for 2002 was 869,325. Total calls for 2001 was 871,700 which is a difference of - 2,375 which indicates a 0.27% decrease in call load.

2001
Total calls for 2001 was 871,700, a difference of -11,636 from 2000 which indicates a -1.32% decrease in call load.

2000
Total calls for 2000 was 868,238, a difference of -15,098 from 1999 which indicates a -1.71% decrease in call load.

1999
Total calls for 1999 was 883,336, a difference of 43,304 from 1998 which indicates a 5.16% increase in call load.

1998
Total calls for 1998 was 840,032. The January - December totals for 1997 was 817,850. A difference of 22,182 - a 2.71% increase in call load.
