Moriah Phone 901-795-3131 Fax 901- 795-6570 Precinct Commander: Major Johnny Currin Wards: Nine Number of Officers: 184 Boundaries: The western boundary follows Airways, I 240, and Getwell, from Getwell to Park, Park becomes our northern boundary. Park to the City/Germantown line becomes our eastern boundary. That same line turns into the City/County line in Hickory Hill to become our southern boundary. The East Precinct, which covers an area of approximately 54 square miles and serves an estimated 165,000 people is divided into 9 patrol areas. 2003 Stats Calls: 167,813 Specials: 116,601 Arrests: 11,039 Offense Reports: 21,909 Citations: 29,739 Avg. Response Time: 3.66 minutes Goals: Increase community involvement to build and strengthen the partnership between the East Precinct and its citizens in order to eliminate crime and build stronger and safer neighborhoods. COACTS: The East Precinct has 2 substations. Parkway Village Co-Act substation is located at 4955 Cottonwood in the McFarland Community Center, their telephone number is 362-1990. The Hickory Hill Co-Act substation was added in 1999 and is located at 4225 Riverdale, their telephone number is 566-9568. These substations were established to strengthen the partnership between the officers and the citizens of the East Precinct community. A precinct bicycle unit was established which will allow officers greater mobility and visibility within the shopping malls and our neighborhoods.
