On Monday, April 28, 2025, at 1:39 a.m., officers responded to a fatal pedestrian crash on Lamar Avenue at Garfield Street. Officers were advised that an unknown hit-and-run driver struck and fatally injured a female pedestrian and then fled the scene. The hit-and-run vehicle was a silver sedan, possibly a Chevrolet Impala, last seen traveling westbound on Lamar Avenue toward South Parkway East. The sedan will have possible damage to its front end and radiator.
