On March 24, 2026, at 5:30 p.m., officers responded to an aggravated assault that occurred in the 1300 block of Poplar Avenue. Officers were advised that the victim was jogging down Poplar Avenue when he was shot in the leg by a high-powered pellet rifle. The suspect vehicle was a white Chevrolet Malibu with a sunroof and an unknown Tennessee license plate. The driver of the vehicle was a heavy-set Black male. The possible suspect(s) fled the scene northbound on Garland from Poplar Avenue.
