On February 28, 2026, at 1:22 p.m., officers responded to a shooting in the 1700 block of Castalia Street. Officers located a male and a female who were struck by gunfire. Both were transported to the hospital in critical condition. The female was later upgraded to non-critical condition. The two victims drove through two groups shooting at each other were struck in the crossfire. The primary suspects were three males armed with rifleswho were walking in the area when the shooting occurred. They fled the scene eastbound on Frisco from Castalia in an unidentified car. The secondary suspects were armed with pistols and fled the scene westbound on Boyle.
