On January 12, 2026, at approximately 7:00 p.m., officers observed a vehicle responsible for an aggravated assault that occurred on January 11, 2026, in the area of Arnold Road and Old Quary Road. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, a Toyota Camry. The driver refused to stop, and officers pursued the vehicle. An officer attempted to deploy stop sticks, but the Camry swerved and struck the officer. The Camry continued to flee from officers when it struck a stationary vehicle at South Perkins Road and American Way. The three suspects in the Camry ran from the vehicle. All were apprehended. Officers recovered a gun, marijuana, and buprenorphine from the suspects.

The officer was transported to the hospital. He is in non-critical condition and is expected to recover.

Stephen Lewis, 29, was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Manufacture/Deliver/Sell to wit: Marijuana and Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Manufacture/Deliver/Sell to wit: Buprenorphine.

Devonta Readus, 30, was charged with Attempted First-Degree Murder, Evading Arrest in an Automobile, Violation of Financial Law, No Driver’s License, Reckless Driving, and Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Manufacture/Deliver/Sell to wit: Marijuana. Readus has a history of drug and violent felony charges.

Quandarius Tucker, 26, was charged with Evading Arrest on Foot and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon. He had active warrants for Aggravated Assault and Domestic Assault at the time of his arrest.
