On October 29, 2026, at approximately 8:14 p.m., officers responded to a shooting in the 1900 block of Bonnie Drive. Officers located a male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to the hospital in critical condition where he was later pronounced deceased. Officers detained a male on scene, identified as Darren Hurt, and discovered that the victim and Hurt were involved in an altercation prior to the shooting.

Darren Hurt, 20, was arrested and charged with Second-Degree Murder and Employing a Firearm During the Commission of a Dangerous Felony.
