On Monday, February 2, 2026, at approximately 2:05 a.m., officers responded to an attempted robbery of a business at 1682 East Shelby Drive at the Marathon. Officers were advised that two unknown masked males entered the store. One of the males brandished a black handgun and demanded money from the business, while the second suspect brandished a large knife and held the front door open. The male, armed with a gun, fired one shot into the counter area after the clerk refused to give them money. Both suspects fled the scene on foot without getting anything.
