On Monday, July 28, 2025, at 11:18 p.m., officers responded to a business burglary at 7926 Giacosa Place at Academy Sports. Officers were advised that an unknown Black male suspect dressed in all black clothing pried open the rear door of the business and unlawfully entered the premises. At the time of entry, overnight staff were present inside the business, which appeared to startle the suspect. The suspect immediately fled the scene through the same rear door and was observed entering a small gray 4-door sedan. Earlier that same day, at approximately 9:37 a.m., store management reported that the suspect and another individual had attempted to conceal themselves in the store’s restroom before closing. Both individuals were captured on the store’s surveillance cameras.
