Traffic & Safety Guidance
To support traffic flow and pedestrian safety, MPD will implement the following traffic directions:
Garage Exits:
-
East Garage (onto Martin Luther King Blvd.): All traffic will be directed eastbound.
-
West Garage (onto Martin Luther King Blvd.): Traffic may go westbound unless B.B. King Blvd. becomes congested, in which case vehicles will be directed eastbound.
Drop-Off & Accessibility Zones:
-
Vehicles transporting disabled or handicapped passengers may drop off on B.B. King Blvd. in front of FedExForum, then proceed westbound on George W. Lee Ave. to park.
-
After the event, vehicles picking up disabled or handicapped passengers will be able to access northbound B.B. King Blvd. and westbound George W. Lee Ave. for pick-up directly in front of the Westin Hotel.
-
Horse carriages may also use the drop-off route on B.B. King and George W. Lee.
Rideshare Pick-Up and Drop-Off:
-
All rideshare services should use George W. Lee Avenue between Second Street and B.B. King Boulevard for both drop-offs and pick-ups.
-
An additional post-event rideshare pickup area is located at northbound B.B. King Blvd. and George W. Lee Ave., in front of the Westin.
Juvenile Attendee Pickup:
-
Recommended pickup is on Martin Luther King Blvd., between 4th Street/Ida B. Wells Dr. and Danny Thomas Blvd.
