On March 8, 2026, at approximately 9:11 p.m., officers responded to a fatal hit-and-run crash at the intersection of East Shelby Drive and Hodge Road. Officers arrived and located a two-vehicle crash. The occupants of a green 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe were traveling westbound on Shelby Drive when they struck a white Toyota that was eastbound on East Shelby Drive. The Tahoe fled the scene, but was later located unoccupied. The driver of the Toyota was pronounced deceased on the scene.

Officers received information and a photo of the occupants of the Tahoe.

The driver was a dark-complexioned, slim Black male, approximately 25-30 years old, approximately 5’8″,  who wore a black do-rag, a white t-shirt, and red pants.

The passenger was a Black male in a black jacket, a white shirt, and khaki pants.
