On October 14, 2024, at approximately 5:05 a.m., officers responded to a pedestrian hit-and-run crash at South Danny Thomas Boulevard near Doctor MLK Jr. Drive. A male crossing the street on an electric mobility scooter had been struck. He was transported to the hospital in critical condition. On October 26, 2024, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. The driver’s and vehicle’s descriptions remain unknown.
