On Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 11:24 p.m., officers responded to a fatal pedestrian crash at Winchester Road and Heather Ridge Drive, where a burgundy 2015-2016 Ford Focus and an unknown driver were traveling eastbound on Winchester Road near Heather Ridge Drive when the vehicle struck pedestrian Fredy Lopez, who was walking across Winchester Road. The pedestrian sustained fatal injuries. The suspect fled eastbound on Winchester Road, southbound on Clarke Road, then westbound on Tulip Tree Drive after the crash. The vehicle involved will be a 2015-2017 red Ford Focus, which will have heavy front-end damage on the driver’s side, a shattered front windshield, and a missing grille.
