On June 2, 2025, at approximately 10:56 p.m., officers responded to a shooting call at 1461 Pendleton Street. Officers located a male victim lying on the ground across the street from the store, suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced deceased on the scene. Investigators obtained video footage, which showed that before the shooting, the victim was involved in a verbal altercation. The altercation was with a Black male, who is a person of interest in this case and was identified as “Ray Ray”. “Ray Ray” then went around to the south side of the store out of camera view. The victim then walked around the corner of the store with an unidentified female wearing a green shirt and black pants, which is where “Ray Ray” was last seen going. After the shooting, “Ray Ray” gets into a white, 4-door, Chrysler 300 with a black hood, fleeing the scene westbound on Deadrick Avenue, and the unidentified female runs northbound on Pendleton Street.
