On June 3, 2025, at 10:41 p.m., officers responded to a shooting in the 6800 block of Birch Lake Drive. Officers located Cody Johnson lying outside the front door of his apartment, shot multiple times. Investigators located video that showed two suspects dressed in ski masks, dark hoodies, and dark-colored pants approach the victim, firing shots, and fatally striking the victim. The suspects were last seen running behind the complex on foot.
