On Monday, August 18, 2025, at 10:12 p.m., officers responded to a burglary in the 1600 block of Monroe Avenue. Officers were advised that the victim’s gray 2014 Chevrolet Impala (TN Tag BDQ6973) and several household items, including a 75-inch television, multiple shoe boxes, and Polo shirts, were stolen while he was away at work. The apartment showed signs of entry but no forced damage, and Hymon estimated the total loss to be around $9,825.
Video footage shows an older black male entering the vehicle without unlocking it, manipulating something under the hood to activate the lights, and driving away. The suspect appeared to have prior knowledge of how to bypass the ignition.
Anyone with information about this incident should call Crime Stoppers 901-528-CASH (2274).
