Search Warrant Leads to Recovery of Stolen Tools, Six Firearms, and One Arrest

On Monday, October 12, 2026, at approximately 12:57 p.m., officers responded to a theft call at Home Depot, 3469 Riverdale Road. Officers were advised that on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at approximately 7:00 p.m., two male suspects entered the store, placed over $5,000 worth of power tools into a storage container, and fled the scene in a newer-model black SUV.

On Wednesday, October 14, 2026, investigators executed a search warrant at a residence in the 2800 block of East Hickory Bluff. During the search, officers recovered a large quantity of new power tools connected to the theft, along with six firearms and several hundred rounds of ammunition.

Lavelle Moore, 54, was arrested and charged with Evading Arrest to wit Foot Pursuit; six counts of Convicted Felon in Possession of a Handgun; and Theft of Merchandise $2,500 – $10,000.
