On August 13, 2025, at 5:56 p.m., officers responded to a carjacking in the 2100 block of Court Avenue. An elderly victim parked her white 2025 Toyota Corolla in the parking lot when three male suspects ambushed her. The first suspect dragged her out of the car and body slammed her on the pavement. He then got in the driver’s seat while the two other suspects got in the passenger seats of the vehicle. They fled the scene southbound on Cooper Street.
At 5:59 p.m., the victim’s vehicle was located by officers at Walnut Grove and Tillman Street, involved in a crash. After a foot chase, officers took Latravious Standberry, 20, into custody.
Suspect #1 had shoulder-length dreads with highlights and was wearing a dark gray shirt, light gray pants, and black shoes.
Suspect #2 had short dreads and was wearing a black Rick and Morty hoodie, gray pants, and black shoes. He has been identified as Kailip Franklin. He is in custody.
Suspect #3, Latravious Standberry, had shoulder-length dreads, a blue shirt with Brooklyn written on it in white lettering, gray pants, and black shoes. He is in custody.
Latravious Standberry, 20, was charged with Carjacking, Evading Arrest, No Driver’s License, Failure to Stop/Leaving the Scene of an Accident, and Possession of a Controlled Substance to wit: Heroin.
