The Memphis Police Department is advising the public of towing operations associated with the St. Jude Memphis Marathon. Beginning Friday, December 5, 2025, at 10:00 p.m., vehicles that pose a hazard along the marathon route will be towed prior to the start of the race.
“No Parking” signs and placards have been posted along the course in all restricted areas. Drivers are urged to plan ahead, move vehicles accordingly, and help ensure a safe and efficient event for runners, spectators, and first responders.

Towing Procedures

The Memphis Police Department’s Dispatcher will be notified of each tow.

Towed vehicles will be transported to the secured “Friendly Lot” located at:
G.E. Patterson & Front Street
540 S. Front Street, Memphis, TN 38103 -
Vehicles will remain secured until the owner arrives to retrieve them.
Vehicle Retrieval

Vehicle owners may reclaim their cars until 4:00 p.m. on race day from the Friendly Lot at 540 S. Front Street.

Owners must present proper identification and proof of ownership.

After 4:00 p.m., any unclaimed vehicles will be moved to a private lot owned by Blues City for later pickup.

There will be no cost to the owner as long as the vehicle is retrieved within five (5) days.
MPD encourages all residents and visitors to review posted signage and support a safe and successful St. Jude Memphis Marathon Weekend.
