On May 9, 2026, at 3:47 a.m., officers responded to an aggravated assault at the Avery Park Apartments in the 2500 block of Holly Hedge Drive. Officers responded and located several apartment buildings struck by gunfire, although no injuries were reported. Video footage from the complex showed five suspects exiting an older-model blue or gray sedan. They are seen walking through the complex before the shooting, and after the shooting, they fled in the sedan.
