MPD is releasing video related to the officer-involved shooting that occurred during a traffic stop on February 26, 2026, near South Perkins. During the stop, Officer Torres-Molina recovered a firearm and placed it inside the vehicle. The suspect, later identified as Danell Maxwell, had a second firearm concealed on his person, which was then used to shoot Officer Torres-Molina.

The suspect is now in custody.
