On Friday, June 6, 2025, at 1:35 a.m., officers responded to an aggravated assault at 3921 American Way. Officers located a male victim who was transported to Regional One in critical condition. Investigators recovered video that showed a suspect strike the victim multiple times in the head with a large tree limb while the victim slept on a bench. The victim suffered significant injuries. The suspect fled the scene on foot.

The suspect was a thin, Black male, approximately 45-55 years old. He wore glasses, a white baseball cap, a blue t-shirt, black jeans, and black shoes.
