Cordney Campbell, also known as “Moo Slime,” is a known gang leader who had been identified as an Aggravated Assault Prolific Offender — an MPD initiative that allows investigators to focus on the most violent criminals responsible for gun violence.
In March 2025, officers assigned to the Memphis Police Department’s North Main Station responded to a shots fired call. Dispatch advised that a male was firing a gun in the street. Officers arrived on scene and located Campbell. He was detained and found to be in possession of a handgun, narcotics, and had multiple active warrants.
Over the past five years, Campbell has been listed in eight separate reports involving firearms. In 2022, he was arrested for pointing a Draco-style firearm at individuals attending a candlelight vigil.
At the time of his arrest, MPD’s Multi-Agency Gang Unit (MGU) and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) were already conducting a long-term investigation into the gang with which Campbell is affiliated. Investigators immediately recognized the firearm recovered from Campbell as the same weapon he had been posting on social media.
Campbell was federally indicted for Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Last week, he was sentenced to 60 months in federal prison.
This case was the result of a joint investigation involving the Memphis Police Department’s North Main Station, MPD’s Multi-Agency Gang Unit (MGU), ATF, and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Tennessee.
