On Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at approximately 1:30 p.m., officers responded to a robbery at Mapco at 1691 Poplar Avenue. An unknown male suspect entered and approached the check-out counter. He told the employee that he did not wish to harm her, but would if he had to, while also advising her that he was coming behind the counter to take items. The suspect then threatened to shoot her if she did not put her phone down. The male suspect went behind the counter and grabbed numerous packs of cigarettes displayed for sale, concealing them inside a backpack. The male suspect then fled the scene on foot and was last seen northbound on North Evergreen Street from Poplar Avenue.

The suspect was a Black male, approximately 6’0”, approximately 40 years of age, approximately 230lbs, wearing an orange hoodie, blue jeans, black shoes, and carrying a purple backpack.
