On Friday, November 28, 2025, at 10:31 p.m., officers responded to a fatal crash scene at Poplar Avenue and Cochran Street. A male juvenile who was riding on a scooter was struck by a vehicle. The hit-and-run driver struck the male and left the scene. The male rider did not survive his injuries. The investigation revealed that the hit-and-run vehicle, which was a four-door sedan, was dark in color and sustained front-end damage. The vehicle fled the scene eastbound on Poplar Avenue toward Interstate.
