On Monday, August 24, 2026, at approximately 4:10 p.m., officers responded to a shooting at New Horn Lake Road and West Brooks Road. Officers located a white SUV with multiple gunshot strikes into the vehicle. The vehicle also struck a pole. The male driver of the vehicle was shot and was transported to the hospital in critical condition. He later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. Officers also located an uninjured juvenile in the backseat. The shooting occurred between 4:00 and 4:08 p.m.
