Update:

On September 11, 2026, the MPD Fugitive Unit apprehended Sabrina Powe in the 8600 block of Herring Cove.

On September 14, 2026, Amilya Hardin was placed into custody.

 

On September 10, 2026, the Shelby County Grand Jury returned with a True Bill Indictment on three individuals in connection with this investigation.

Tametria Norry, 49, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Child Abuse, Criminally Negligent Homicide, and Destruction/Tampering with Government Records.

Amilya Hardin, 21, has been charged with Aggravated Child Abuse, Criminally Negligent Homicide and Destruction/Tampering with Government Records.

Sabrina Powe, 43, has been charged with Aggravated Child Abuse, Criminally Negligent Homicide and Destruction/Tampering with Government Records.

 

On Thursday, August 13, 2026, at 3:23 p.m., officers responded to an ambulance call in the 700 block of Walnut Knoll Lane. Upon arrival, officers were advised that a 6-year-old female victim had been transported to the hospital after being discovered in a vehicle. The victim was later pronounced deceased by medical personnel. There have been no charges filed at this time.
