On July 31, 2026, at approximately 9:15 p.m., officers responded to a business robbery at the Family Dollar at 4082 South Third Street. Officers were advised that a male suspect walked in and pretended to be a customer. Once at the checkout counter, the suspect reached into the cash register and attempted to take the money. When the cashier attempted to stop him, he jumped the counter and assaulted the clerk. He took the cash from the drawer and fled the scene on foot.

The suspect was a thin Black male wearing eyeglasses, a blue shirt, and khaki pants.
