On January 4, 2026, at approximately 6:30 p.m., officers responded to a shooting in the 1300 block of McMillan Street. Upon arrival, officers located three males suffering from gunshot wounds. Two of the victims were transported to the hospital in critical condition. The third victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
During the investigation, homicide investigators identified 20-year-old Rashod Manuel, also known as Rashod Shorter, as the suspect responsible for the shooting.
On August 3, 2026, Manuel was apprehended and charged with First-Degree Murder, Criminal Attempt First-Degree Murder (3X), Employing a Firearm with Intent to Commit a Dangerous Felony (4X), and Reckless Endangerment with a Deadly Weapon.
