On July 5, 2025, at 4:41 a.m., a robbery occurred at 948 South Cooper Street outside of Las Margaritas. Video in the area captured the event. The victim, a 68-year-old female, was sleeping on a bench in front of the business. An unknown male approached the victim. He struck her, causing injuries that sent her to the hospital, and took her backpack. The suspect then ran eastbound on Young Avenue towards East Parkway.

The suspect was a male wearing a blue hat with a Texas state flag on the front, a black and white striped long-sleeved shirt, khaki pants, and black and white shoes.
