On Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 10:38 p.m., officers responded to an attempted carjacking in the 4200 block of Summer Avenue. Officers were advised that the victim was sitting in the front passenger seat of her Hyundai Santa Fe in the parking lot, waiting for her children to finish shopping. The victim advised that the vehicle was running while she was sitting inside it, and a male walked up to the driver’s side and brandished a small black handgun, demanding her purse and keys to the vehicle. The victim then grabbed the keys out of the ignition, fled from the vehicle, and began screaming for help. Before the incident, the suspect was inside the business attempting to shoplift.

Suspect # 1 was a Black male with a faded haircut who was wearing black jeans, a red shirt, and black and white shoes.
