On July 11, 2026, at approximately 7:40 p.m., officers responded to an Aggravated Assault call in the 4700 block of Cottonwood Rd. Officers were advised that the victim was involved in a road rage incident involving a red or maroon Ford Focus. The suspect vehicle pulled onto a parking lot at Cottonwood Rd. and S. Perkins Rd. where the front seat passenger exited the vehicle and fired shots at the victim’s vehicle.
The suspect is a Black male with medium length dreadlocks, wearing a light-colored shirt with a design on the front and back, light colored jeans, armed with a handgun.

On July 13, 2026, Memphis Police Department officers and investigators apprehended 21-year-old Clinton Nash in connection with a road rage shooting that occurred on July 11, 2026.
On July 11, at approximately 10:00 p.m., officers responded to an aggravated assault in the 3100 block of Arrendale Street. During the investigation, detectives learned that the incident stemmed from a road rage encounter. The suspect vehicle pulled into a parking lot in the 2900 block of S. Perkins Road, and as the victims drove past, the front-seat passenger exited the vehicle and fired multiple rounds.
The victims’ vehicle, occupied by four individuals, including a juvenile, was struck by gunfire. No injuries were reported.
Investigators utilized surveillance footage from a nearby business to identify the suspect vehicle. Through investigative efforts, Clinton Nash was identified as the individual responsible for the shooting.
On July 13, Mt. Moriah Station Task Force Officers located the suspect vehicle at a residence in the 3000 block of S. Perkins Road and apprehended Nash without incident.
During the execution of a search warrant, investigators recovered 11 firearms, multiple rounds of ammunition, and a machine gun conversion device commonly known as a “switch.”
Nash was charged with:
- Attempted Second Degree Murder
- Employing a Firearm During the Commission of a Dangerous Felony
- Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
- Reckless Endangerment to wit: Deadly Weapon
