Arrested: 943 E. Parkway South

On July 23, 2026, at approximately 8:55 p.m., officers responded to a shooting call in the area of New York Street and Oliver Avenue. Preliminary information indicated that there were shots fired at a nearby Marathon gas station and in the area of New York Street and Oliver Avenue.

At the Marathon gas station, officers were advised that seven armed males entered the business while four armed males remained outside. Shots were fired and all individuals involved fled the scene before officers arrived. No injuries were reported.

Through the course of the investigation, investigators reviewed surveillance footage and identified Rodderius Shambley as one of the individuals involved.

On July 24, 2026, officers located Rodderius Shambley and another individual involved, later identified as Marcus Jones, in the 1600 block of South Cooper Street. Both were taken into custody without incident.

Rodderius Shambley, 19, and Marcus Jones, 18, were both arrested and charged with five counts of Criminal Attempted Second-Degree Murder, five counts of Employment of a Firearm During the Commission of a Dangerous Felony and Reckless Endangerment to wit: Deadly Weapon.
