On March 23, 2025, at approximately 2:00 p.m., officers responded to a fatal pedestrian hit and run crash on N. Hollywood Street, south of Interstate 40. Upon arriving on the scene, officers found that a hit and run driver struck a male pedestrian and left the scene. The pedestrian did not survive his injuries. The investigation revealed that a black Nissan Murano SUV, bearing a TN temporary tag and traveling northbound on N. Hollywood Street, struck the pedestrian as he attempted to cross the roadway. The black Nissan Murano SUV had tinted windows and sustained a broken/partially missing front passenger headlight, dented collision damage to the front passenger end/fender and hood, a damaged windshield (passenger side), and fled the scene northbound on N. Hollywood Street.
